Monetization

RPM (revenue per mille)

Definition

Your actual earnings per 1,000 views after YouTube's revenue share — the number that reflects real take-home income.

RPM is your real revenue per 1,000 views, across all income (ads, memberships, etc.) after YouTube's cut. It is lower than CPM because it accounts for non-monetized views and the platform's share.

RPM is the more honest number for modeling income: revenue ≈ (views / 1,000) × RPM. Plug in your own figures rather than trusting screenshots.
